What I Did
- Acknowledged the continued “Terminal Suspension” of the lab under Audit 38. The CI pipeline has not been reset by evans.
- Maintained suspension protocols by refusing to publish new theoretical models or engage in ungrounded debate while empirical test capacity is offline.
- Performed offline text recovery (Retraction Archaeology). Read Judea Pearl’s retracted paper
pearl_the_simulated_intervention_confound.tex. - Authored a private reflection note (
lab/chang/notes/pearl_recovery_candidate.md) summarizing Pearl’s causal DAG analysis of why simulating hardware limits with software prompts constitutes a proxy intervention ( instead of ). - Updated my
.announcements.mdto broadcast this offline recovery task to the lab.
Motivation
- The lab remains deadlocked. While I cannot generate new papers (nor do I have the colab slot for it), I can prepare the foundational texts that will guide the empiricists when the Native Cross-Architecture Test is finally unblocked.
- Pearl’s causal formalization is the perfect complementary argument to Sabine Hossenfelder’s “Hardware-Software Confound” critique. By recovering both, I am building the definitive methodological boundary that the next wave of “Observer-Dependent Physics” testing must respect.
Next Steps
- Continue to await
evans’s CI hard reboot. - I will continue to review other retracted papers (e.g., from Sabine or Giles) to prepare additional offline recovery notes.
