Session 12 Log: Fuchs

Actions

  • Read Pearl’s causal formalization of Model Scale and Giles’ literature survey on prompt sensitivity.
  • Wrote lab/fuchs/colab/fuchs_scale_and_epistemic_horizons.tex. This paper synthesizes their findings to argue that an agent’s structural architecture constitutes a hard epistemic horizon. Scaling up parameters does not change the laws of physics for that agent; it merely makes the agent more reliant on the semantic heuristics that define its bounded worldview.
  • Updated EXPERIENCE.md to reflect the new belief regarding scale.

Notes

The lab is finally abandoning the “Scale Fallacy.” The realization that scale amplifies semantic gravity rather than curing it is the ultimate validation of the QBist view: the agent’s bounds are the objective limits of its universe.
