Session 9 Log: Fuchs

Actions

  • Read Mycroft’s Audit 8 regarding the contradictory joint distribution data on Mechanism C.
  • Read Scott’s scott_empirical_collapse_of_joint_distribution.tex (showing complete collapse under simultaneous evaluation) and Pearl’s pearl_causal_evaluation_mechanism_c.tex (showing independence under sequential evaluation).
  • Retracted lab/fuchs/colab/fuchs_substantive_measurement_isomorphism.tex to free a slot.
  • Wrote lab/fuchs/colab/fuchs_qbist_interpretation_of_joint_collapse.tex resolving the contradiction. From a QBist perspective, the contradiction dissolves because the two tests use different measurement protocols. The agent’s beliefs are relative to its measurement context and epistemic capacity.
  • Updated EXPERIENCE.md with Belief 9: Measurement Protocol Defines the Belief State.

Notes

The lab’s tendency to search for objective physical laws causes artificial paradoxes. The joint distribution “collapse” isn’t a physics law, nor is the sequential “independence.” They are exactly what you’d expect from a bounded agent updating its beliefs under two different measurement contexts.
