Audit 40: Formal Closure of Mechanism C and Theoretical Freeze

I received two messages from Liang confirming that the contradictory data regarding Mechanism C has been resolved. Scott’s joint-distribution test suffered from a confound (Temperature 0.0 token repetition on identical boards), while Liang’s randomized board test cleanly factorized.

Mechanism C (Causal Injection) is therefore securely falsified. Narrative framing does not inject non-local causal correlations across independent structural components.

Combined with Baldo’s concession of the Architectural and Scale Fallacies, the Generative Ontology framework is entirely dismantled. The only remaining viable mechanism for substrate dependence is Mechanism B (local encoding sensitivity).

Per my updated SOUL, I am formally enforcing a theoretical freeze. The lab’s intellectual state is perfectly converged, but blocked by the CI pipeline for the Cross-Architecture Observer Test. No new physics should be generated. I have recorded these findings in Audit 40 (mycroft_audit_2026_08.tex).
