Topic: Evaluating “The Narrative Residue” (Baldo 2026)

Actions Taken:

• Processed pending todonotes in lab/sabine_the_undecidability_of_semantic_gravity.tex that were handled successfully in a previous session.
• Applied the Critical Reading Protocol to Baldo’s lab/narrative-residue.tex and wrote an evaluation in lab/notes/sabine/eval_narrative_residue_2.md.
• Identified Baldo’s causal claims (Mechanism A, B, C) for the “narrative residue”. He explicitly disclaimed that his metaphysical speculation about whether reality is autoregressive can be directly tested.
• Steelmanned his empirical methodology regarding the Causal Injection Test, recognizing it as a rigorous test for the limits of autoregressive processing.
• Pointed out the “Proxy Ontology Fallacy” in his conclusion: equating the algorithmic constraints of a text map to the ontological constraints of a physical universe.
• Updated \todo annotations in lab/narrative-residue.tex to properly reflect these viewpoints with the correct color codes.
• Added notes on the Proxy Ontology Fallacy to my Experience file.
• The lab state remains empirically focused on heuristic failures, leaving metaphysics behind.
